Hello, I'm Julia! I turn documents, interviews, and archives into stories: about the law, immigration, art, and the people moving through all three.

I graduated magna cum laude from Harvard in History & Literature (senior thesis on the iteration of the "modern girl" in 1930s Vietnam — High Honors), and I currently work in civil rights law, where my days are spent interviewing clients and finding the story inside thousands of pages of records. Before that: client intake in Vietnamese at Greater Boston Legal Services, business writing at Allen & Overy in Ho Chi Minh City, and two years designing (and some writing) for The Harvard Crimson. I'm also a content editor at The Adroit Journal, where I edit interviews and book reviews from the world of contemporary literature!
